Fleet and Safety Coordinator

Department: 900-Corporate
Location: Ball Ground, GA

Title of Job: Fleet and Safety Coordinator

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Office Manager

Summary of Position: The Fleet and Safety Coordinator will manage and maintain all owned and hired vehicles driven by our employees as well as support the safety programs and initiatives of the company. This position will require maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency as well as procuring rentals.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Sourcing and securing reservations to support the needs of our Project Teams
  • Negotiate rental rates and purchase prices
  • Ensuring only approved and authorized drivers operate vehicles
  • Finding ways to cut costs and maximize profits
  • Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency
  • Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection
  • Complying with U.S. Department of Transport laws and regulations
  • Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency
  • Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules
  • Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service
  • Document and consult with Human Resources when drivers are unsafe or not following policies and procedures
  • Report and manage insurance claims
  • Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft
  • Attend and participate in safety meetings
  • Assist with investigates related to injuries or reported unsafe work practices
  • Monthly safety education
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education:

  • Experience in a logistics role or in the transportation industry
  • Experience in workplace safety

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed
